TECNO’s latest attempt at an ultra-slim smartphone balances features differently than previous models, addressing common compromises in the category. The TECNO CAMON Slim measures 6.39 millimetres thick, a slight increase over the brand’s earlier thin designs but consistent across the entire chassis thanks to a boxier frame with flat sides. Available in four colourways, the Burgundy Red variant features a deep, dark red hue with a matte finish that resists fingerprints. This design choice ensures that the thickness is uniform throughout the chassis, providing a solid grip that prevents the phone from feeling slippery in the hand.
Display and Audio
The device sports a flat 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, mirroring the screen found in the CAMON 50 series. It includes a punch-hole for a 32-megapixel selfie camera and supports Widevine L1 for streaming services. The screen displays bright colours and deep blacks, making it suitable for video consumption. Sound comes from stereo speakers tuned for Dolby Atmos, offering a respectable soundstage for a mid-range device. These speakers are identical to those found in the CAMON 50 series, ensuring a consistent audio experience for music and media playback.
One notable inclusion is the MagBadge, a circular accessory that magnetically attaches to the included case. It functions as a secondary viewfinder, a remote shutter for rear selfies, and a display for photos and videos. This accessory highlights the phone’s emphasis on rear-camera selfies, a niche that many competitors ignore. The accessory integrates seamlessly with the included MagCase, allowing users to instantly switch between different functions without needing to unlock the phone or handle complex menus.

Despite the slim profile, the phone houses a main camera equipped with the LYT-700C sensor and optical image stabilisation (OIS). It also features an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with autofocus. Performance and Battery
Under the hood, the CAMON Slim uses a Dimensity 7300e processor paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The 6nm manufacturing process differs from the 4nm chips found in more powerful variants. This makes the device less suitable for intensive gaming, though Genshin Impact runs at low graphics settings with minimal heat generation. General daily use remains smooth. The GPU in the Dimensity 7300e is slightly less powerful than its 4nm counterpart, which explains why high-end graphical titles require performance compromises to maintain a stable frame rate.

Perhaps the most surprising element is the 6000mAh battery. Placing such a large capacity inside a 6.39mm chassis is technically challenging. The device carries an IP69K rating, protecting it from water up to two metres deep. Benchmarks show a battery life of 14 hours and 45 minutes in PCMark tests, translating to a full day of usage for most people. This capacity is a significant engineering feat, as slim phones typically rely on smaller, less efficient cells that drain quickly.
Running HiOS 16, the phone includes TECNO’s AI features. The company promises three major Android updates and five years of security patches. The combination of a large battery, decent 5G processor, and unexpected camera hardware suggests TECNO has found a functional balance for the ultra-slim form factor. The final determination will depend on the pricing strategy in the Philippines. This software support commitment adds long-term value, ensuring the device remains secure and up to date for several years after its initial release.
